Overview
The Biomedical Equipment Technician plays a critical role in the healthcare industry by ensuring that medical equipment is safe, functional, and reliable. This position involves maintaining, repairing, and calibrating a variety of medical devices used in hospitals and clinics. The technician will work closely with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality service and support for essential medical equipment.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on durable medical equipment (DME) to ensure optimal performance.
- Calibrate medical devices according to manufacturer specifications and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions using schematics and technical manuals.
- Provide field service support, including installation and setup of new equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, repairs, and equipment status.
- Collaborate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) for technical support and guidance on complex repairs.
- Utilize hand tools and computer hardware effectively to conduct repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality assurance protocols.
