Description
Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) / Field Service Technician
Diversified Instrument Services (DIS) is a growing, ISO 9001:2015-certified biomedical and laboratory equipment service company serving hospitals, clinics, and research facilities across the region. We’re looking for a Biomedical Equipment Technician / Field Service Technician to join our team and help us deliver reliable, high-quality service with integrity and professionalism.

This specific job is for the Nashville Tennessee territory. It is not required to live within city limits. All reasonable locations will be considered.

Primary Responsibilities
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and inspections on biomedical and laboratory equipment
Troubleshoot equipment issues and complete repairs in the field and/or shop
Document service work clearly and accurately in our CMMS (TruAsset)
Communicate professionally with customers on-site and provide helpful updates
Follow DIS service and safety procedures, including proper tool use and safe work practices
Maintain service vehicle inventory, parts, and test equipment as assigned
Support quality and compliance standards (ISO-based processes, service documentation, and controlled forms)
Participate in training, mentorship, and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
Mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to document work thoroughly
Professional communication skills with customers and teammates
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability to lift/carry equipment and tools as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Prior biomedical, laboratory, or field service experience
Electronics background (BMET training, military, OEM, or equivalent)
Familiarity with CMMS systems (TruAsset, FMX, or similar)
Experience working in hospitals or regulated environments
Certifications such as CBET or equivalent (preferred, not required)
