1. DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Seeking qualified candidates to fill one (1) Imaging Equipment Technician, Senior Level position.
The specifications for the Imaging Equipment Technician position are as follows:
2. JOB SUMMARY
To perform repair, overhaul and inspection of imaging equipment.
a. Education and/or Experience
• Must have five to eight years’ experience in servicing imaging equipment.
• Must have two additional modalities of specialty e.g.. Mammography, CT Ultrasound, Bone Densitometers, CR or DR systems, Dicom, Pacs, MR, Linear accelerators.
• Prior experience supervising a group of technicians responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing most radiographic equipment commonly found in health care institutions is desirable.
• Must be familiar with the management of hospital technologies.
• Must have the ability to troubleshoot, repair, overhaul and modify most types of radiographic instruments and be able to effectively instruct others in these matters.
• Must demonstrate efficient record keeping abilities.
• Must be comfortable with crisis management.
• Must be able to judiciously apply current FDA 21 CFR (SUBCHAPTER J), Mammography A.C.R. - AND JCAHO regulations, standards and codes.
• Certification as a Radiology Equipment Technician by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation should be attained or as a goal within one year.
• Completion of a two year associates degree program in Biomedical Equipment Technology, military equivalent or manufacturing training.
• Must be able to read and write English and communicate effectively with hospital staff, vendors, manufacturers and corporate staff.
• Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision.
b. Major Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative
• May lead and instruct co-workers as required in the performance of job tasks.
• Maintains records of each work assignment.
• Reads and interprets instructional and maintenance manuals as wells as blue prints, mechanical drawings and schematic diagrams related to equipment services.
• Reads technical journals and literature related to job field.
• Participates in organized education and training activities to upgrade job knowledge and job performance.
• Initiates requests for replacement parts and materials.
• Must be able to travel as necessary to perform the technical tasks below.
• Performs any and all tasks within his/her capabilities as may be required to help meet overall corporate objectives.
• Attends and participates in hospital committee meetings pertaining to radiology, radiology safety, and pre-purchase evaluations of related equipment.
• Implements technology management services at client sites, which may include direct involvement in the coordination and delivery of outside services.
Technical
• Operates and understands basic test equipment, such as focal spot test tools, tomography test tools, light filed/x-ray field test tools, Half Value Layer test tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and microprocessor based test equipment.
• Uses common hand tools as required in the performance of job tasks.
• Inspects, troubleshoots and repairs: passive electronic circuits such as low, high and band pass filters, and resonant circuits, active electronic circuits such as D-C amplifiers, differential amplifiers, operational amplifiers, power supplies, silicon controller rectifier assemblies, multivibrators and switching circuits, and basic electronic circuits and sub-assemblies such
as filters, transformers, rectifiers, regulators, transistors, and computer control systems.
• Inspects, troubleshoots, maintains and repairs. Equipment responsibilities include, but are not limited to, radiographic, fluoroscopic, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT and MRI equipment, computerized equipment including digital radiology and therapy equipment; and other radiographic equipment.
• Performs spot and routine safety and performance checks.
• Within an appropriate interval, should be prepared to assume 24-hour on-call repair responsibilities.
c. Working Conditions/Physical Demands
• Must be able to access and work in confined spaces with little or no assistance.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. to chest height unassisted and 60 lbs. assisted.
• Must have a reliable means of transportation and a valid driver's license.
d. Work Hours
Normal forty (40) hour work week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

g. Expected Base Salary (depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications)
$33.86 to $54.18/ hr
